| With today’s economic recession, UMCM’s Family Support Services is seeing a growing number of individuals and families struggling to pay their utility bills and/or rent. Many have lost jobs or have had their hours drastically reduced. |

| A Success Story - Recently laid off from her job, a single mom with 6 children scheduled an appointment to request help with her bills. When the time for the appointment came, she called excitedly and asked if she could reschedule so that she could attend a job interview instead. Later that day, the young woman arrived with her face glowing. She proudly announced that she had been offered the job! With the help we were able to give her, she was sure that she would be able to quickly catch up on her bills. Karen Edwards, UMCM's Administrative Assistant, recounts many stories of determination and perseverance in the face of hard times. "What a blessing it is to be a part of a ministry that makes such a differences in people's lives." |
